First Meeting of Institutional Quality Committee (IQC) for the Year 2025–2026

1st Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) Meeting (2025-26) – 11 December 2025

The Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) meeting of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), held on 11 December 2025, focused on reviewing compliance and strengthening institutional quality assurance practices. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor and Chair of IQC, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (PoP; T.I.). The proceedings included a comprehensive presentation by Prof. Dr. Bushra Yasmin, Director QEC and Secretary IQC-FJWU, highlighting key compliance areas, ongoing initiatives, and strategic directions for quality enhancement.

The Committee assessed compliance with the 2nd IQC Meeting and the Annual Academic Activity Calendar, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.

A mid-review of Quality Assurance Reviews (2025–26) was conducted, covering RIPE, PGPR, and PREE, with emphasis on improving compliance and addressing identified gaps, particularly in accreditation. The meeting also reviewed feedback mechanisms, response rates, and compliance across academic departments and affiliated colleges, highlighting the need for improved participation and data-driven decision-making. Moreover, discussions on international rankings addressed key challenges and emphasized the proactive role of IQC members in strengthening ranking indicators, feedback systems, and review compliance.

The Vice Chancellor also delivered a brief on the Research Excellence Framework (REF – Pakistan), including pilot implementation and development of a compliance checklist.

Key policy and operational updates included the implementation of the Publication Policy 2024 through ASRB and other statutory bodies, orientation of updated checklists and surveys based on the already adopted revamped quality assurance system PSG-2023, mandatory course file submission with final results, improvement in response rates, and resolution of UMS survey glitches were also discussed during the meeting.

The meeting reaffirmed FJWU’s and IQC’s commitment to continuous quality enhancement, accountability, and excellence in academic and research performance.
