Online Training on Self-Assessment, Data Assembling & Academic Integrity Conducted by QEC-AC Unit
As per the directions of the Director QEC, the QEC-AC Unit of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), Fatima Jinnah Women University, conducted an online training session on Strengthening Quality Assurance: Self-Assessment, Data Assembling & Academic Integrity- For Affiliated Colleges” on 20 November 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. The session focused on the review of applicable Performa 1–10, important deadlines outlined in the Activity Calendar 2025–26, and essential requirements for accurate and timely data submission. Departmental and QEC focal persons from affiliated colleges attended the session. A brief Q&A provided an opportunity for clarifications, during which colleges requested updated templates, including CER. Online attendance was collected through Google Form. The session was recorded and made available for future reference, particularly for participants who could not attend live.
One-Day CPD Training Workshop on “Transforming Learning Through OBE: Mapping & Implementation”
The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) organized a one-day Capacity Building Workshop titled “Transforming Learning Through OBE: Mapping & Implementation” on 3rd Nov, 2025. The session was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Bushra Yasmin, Director QEC, who emphasized the importance of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in promoting meaningful learning and producing future-ready graduates. Prof. Dr. Shoab Ahmad Khan, Chancellor, Sir Syed CASE Institute of Technology, and CEO, CARE, served as the resource person and shared valuable insights on effective OBE implementation across disciplines. Faculty members from FJWU, affiliated colleges, and various higher education institutions actively participated in interactive discussions and hands-on activities.
In her closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (Pride of Performance, T.I.), Vice Chancellor FJWU, appreciated the efforts of QEC and the resource person, highlighting the significance of OBE in enhancing academic quality and continuous improvement. The event concluded with certificate distribution, souvenir presentation, and a group photograph.



QEC Participation in Student Support Services Integrated Activities – Phase III
Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), Fatima Jinnah Women University, actively participated in the Student Support Services Integrated Activities – Phase III, held on October 27, 2025, under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (Pride of Performance; T.I). The event was organized as part of the Higher Education System Strengthening Activities (HESSA) Component C: Student Support Services. Prof. Dr. Bushra Yasmin, Director QEC and Institutional Lead (Executive Track – Student Support Services HESSA), delivered the Opening Session and Acknowledgement of HESSA Support. She introduced the objectives and structure of the program, highlighting the transformative role of HESSA in enhancing FJWU’s student support and quality assurance ecosystem.
The QEC team, including Ms. Nosheen Naz (Deputy Director QEC) and Ms. Shagufta Nasreen (Assistant Registrar QEC), conducted a dedicated session on the Student Feedback Mechanism and Quality Assurance, emphasizing the importance of structured feedback in curriculum improvement, course evaluation, and continuous enhancement of academic and support services. Through its active involvement, QEC reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of quality, feedback-based improvement, and student-centered development—supporting FJWU’s mission of academic excellence and holistic student growth.


Summit on ‘Transforming Higher Education: Shaping the Future of ODL’ organized by QAA, HEC
Quality Assurance Professionals from FJWU attended Summit on ‘Transforming Higher Education: Shaping the Future of ODL’ organized by QAA, HEC, held on 29 September at Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.

HEC Governance Review at FJWU
The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) successfully organized and facilitated two days HEC Governance Review (dated 28th-29th Aug, 2025). The HEC’s team included Prof. Dr. Syed Afaq Haider (IM Sciences, Peshawar) and Mr. Furqan Ali (I-Consult), in collaboration with QEC Team conducted a thorough two-day evaluation at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Rawalpindi in liaison with Prof. Dr. Bushra Yasmin, Director QEC, as the focal person.
The team assessed FJWU’s governance in areas such as Strategic Planning, Academic Governance, Financial Governance and Human Resource Governance, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. The review team engaged with key stakeholders including the Registrar, Additional Treasurer, Controller of Examinations, Director ORIC, Deans, Heads of Departments, and Heads of all Administrative Offices, Faculty, Staff and Student representatives.
The Review Team appreciated the commitment and progress shown by the Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) in terms of its consistent approach and measures to maintain good governance.

THE Sustainability Impact Ratings
In collaboration with Time Higher Education (THE) and SDGs Research & Resource Centre an exclusive Webinar was conducted on THE Sustainability Impact Ratings on August 28, 2025. The session featured Mr. Ritin Malhotra (Times Higher Education) as the keynote speaker, and Prof. Dr. Bushra Yasmin, Director QEC as a panelist and also served as the event organizer.

Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE)
Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) successfully conducted its annual Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE) under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (Pride of Performance, T.I.). Led by Dr. Sajjad Haider, Director QEC, NUML, as the external evaluator, the review followed HEC’s PSG-2023 framework, covering 16 key standards through presentations, departmental visits, and stakeholder engagement. The evaluation team appreciated the university’s efficient digital documentation, strategic planning, and initiatives like SCALE for student engagement. This comprehensive review reaffirmed FJWU’s commitment to continuous quality improvement, institutional transparency, and academic excellence.

Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE)
On February 4, 2025, Fatima Jinnah Women University’s Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) organized a one-day training workshop on Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE), led by Dr. Muhammad Iftikhar Ali from Iqra University. Prof. Dr. Bushra Yasmin, Director of QEC at FJWU, opened the session by emphasizing the importance of PREE in enhancing academic programs and guided participants through the pilot review process. The workshop aimed to strengthen academic quality through self-assessment practices aligned with HEC standards. Dr. Iftikhar provided detailed insights into program objectives, curriculum design, faculty roles, and support services. Participants engaged in hands-on activities to draft Self-Assessment Reports (SARs). Ms. Nosheen Naz concluded with a vote of thanks. The workshop reinforced FJWU’s commitment to academic excellence and institutional improvement.

Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza, Vice Chancellor, emphasized the importance of employability in achieving financial independence and advancing women empowerment. Prof. Dr. Bushra Yasmin, Director QEC, highlighted the workshop’s tailored sessions designed to align FJWU’s curricula with global market needs. Dr. Shaheryar Naveed, Director CLE, urged faculty to adapt teaching methods to nurture market-ready graduates.
