Building Excellence in Doctoral Supervision:  National-Level Training Workshop

Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), through its Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), successfully organized a three-day workshop titled “Quality Assurance in Doctoral Research: A 360° Approach to Ethics, Mentorship and Research Excellence” from May 19–21, 2026. Held under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (Pride of Performance, T.I.) and led by Prof. Dr. Bushra Yasmin, Director QEC, the workshop brought together faculty members from diverse disciplines for capacity building in doctoral supervision.

The workshop featured insightful sessions by distinguished resource persons including Dr. Sofia Khalid (Allama Iqbal Open University), Prof. Dr. Attya Bhatti (National University of Sciences and Technology), Prof. Dr. Shumaila Sajjad (International Islamic University Islamabad), and Prof. Dr. Tariq Majeed (Quaid-i-Azam University). Sessions covered doctoral supervision, research ethics, academic integrity, mentorship, governance, research design, and scholarly publication practices. QEC experts Prof. Dr. Bushra Yasmin, Ms. Nosheen Naz, and Ms. Shagufta Nasreen also shared valuable perspectives on ethics, plagiarism prevention, AI governance, and quality assurance in research.

The initiative reflects FJWU’s continued commitment to enhancing doctoral research quality, strengthening supervisory capacity, and promoting a culture of research excellence and integrity.
